"Romani Imperii Imago," created by Abraham Ortelius in 1590, is a significant map that depicts the Roman Empire during its various stages of expansion and evolution. This map, like Ortelius' other works, is considered an important historical document that provides insights into the geographical extent of the Roman Empire at different points in time.

Ortelius' map "Romani Imperii Imago" would have showcased the territorial boundaries of the Roman Empire, including its provinces, cities, and regions. It likely included annotations and cartographic details that reflected the knowledge of the Roman Empire's geography as understood during the late 16th century.

Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598) was a prominent Flemish cartographer and geographer of the 16th century. He is celebrated for his pioneering contributions to the field of cartography and for creating one of the world's first modern atlases. Ortelius is best known for his groundbreaking work titled "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum" (Theatre of the World), published in 1570, which compiled various maps from different sources into a single comprehensive atlas. This landmark work revolutionized mapmaking and significantly advanced the understanding of world geography during his era. Ortelius' legacy endures as a pivotal figure in the history of cartography, and he is recognized for laying the foundations of modern mapmaking.
