"Tipus Orbis Universalis" is a map created by Peter Apian, also known as Petrus Apianus, a German mathematician, astronomer, and cartographer. The full title of the map is "Tipus Orbis Universalis Iuxta Ptolemei Cosmographi Traditionem et Americi Vespucii Aliorque Lustrationes a Petro Apiano Leysnico Elucbrat An. Do. MDXX," which translates to "A Universal Map According to the Tradition of Ptolemy the Geographer and the Discoveries of Amerigo Vespucci and Others, Elucidated by Peter Apian of Leisnig in the Year 1520."

The map combines the geographical knowledge of the time, based on the work of the ancient Greek geographer Ptolemy, with the voyages of exploration conducted by Amerigo Vespucci and other explorers. It was published in 1520 and is considered one of the earliest maps to show the New World, including parts of the Americas.
