Cary G. & J.’s A New Map of Europe Exhibiting Its Political Divisions According to the Late Treaties, published in 1825, is a fascinating example of early nineteenth-century political cartography, documenting Europe during a period of profound geopolitical transformation following the Napoleonic Wars. Produced by the renowned London mapmaking and publishing firm of George and John Cary, the map reflects the political boundaries established through the diplomatic settlements that reshaped the European continent after years of conflict.

The title itself emphasizes the map’s principal purpose: to present Europe according to the “late treaties”, making it an important historical record of the post-Napoleonic political order.
