Theodor De Bry was a prominent Flemish engraver, publisher, and cartographer who lived during the late 16th century. He is best known for his contributions to the field of cartography and for his role in disseminating knowledge about exploration and voyages through his printed works.

The map "Deliniatio cartae trium navigationum per Batavos ad Septentrionalem plagem Norvegia, Moscovia et Nova Zembla, 1599," is a Latin title that translates to "A Map of the Three Voyages by the Dutch to the Northern Coast of Norway, Muscovy, and Nova Zembla in 1599." This map was created by De Bry and is a significant historical document in the context of Dutch exploration in the Arctic region during the late 16th century.

In 1596, the Dutch explorer Willem Barentsz led an expedition in search of the Northeast Passage to Asia. During this voyage, his ships became trapped in the ice near Nova Zembla, and the crew was forced to winter there. The map depicts the route of these voyages, including their exploration of the northern coast of Norway, the Arctic region, and Nova Zembla.

The map would have been part of De Bry's larger body of work, which included maps, engravings, and publications that documented various voyages and explorations of the time. De Bry's contributions played a crucial role in disseminating information about these voyages to a broader audience in Europe.

Theodor De Bry (also spelled as Theodor de Brye) was a prominent Flemish engraver, publisher, and editor who lived during the late 16th century. He was born on November 14, 1528, in Liège, which is now part of Belgium, and he passed away on March 27, 1598, in Frankfurt, Germany.

It's important to note that De Bry's works were not limited to a single geographic region or subject matter. He covered a wide range of topics, from accounts of European exploration in the New World to descriptions of indigenous peoples and cultures.
