The Tribe of Simeon, or "Tribus Simeon" in Latin, was one of the twelve tribes of Israel in biblical history. It was named after Simeon, who was the second son of Jacob and Leah. The tribe of Simeon played a role in the history of ancient Israel, though it is often mentioned in conjunction with the tribe of Judah.

According to the biblical accounts, after the Israelites' exodus from Egypt and their journey in the wilderness, the twelve tribes of Israel settled in the Promised Land. The tribe of Simeon received a territorial allotment within the southern region of the land of Canaan, which was primarily within the territory of the tribe of Judah.

The exact boundaries and extent of the tribe of Simeon's territory are not well defined in the biblical text. Some sources suggest that the tribe's territory was scattered within the southern region of Judah, while others indicate that it was absorbed by the tribe of Judah over time.

In biblical narratives, the tribe of Simeon is not frequently mentioned independently, and its history is often intertwined with that of the tribe of Judah. Some members of the tribe of Simeon are mentioned in certain biblical events and accounts, but the tribe's distinct identity and influence are relatively less emphasized compared to other tribes.

As the kingdom of Israel later split into the northern kingdom of Israel (composed of ten tribes) and the southern kingdom of Judah, the tribe of Simeon's significance diminished, and it became assimilated into the kingdom of Judah.

Christian van Adrichem, also known as Christian Adrichomius, was a Dutch Catholic priest, theologian, and geographer. He was born in Delft, Netherlands, in 1533 and died in Cologne, Germany, in 1585.

Adrichem is best known for his work on biblical geography and cartography. His most famous work is "Theatrum Terrae Sanctae et Biblicarum Historiarum" (The Theater of the Holy Land and Biblical History), which was published posthumously in 1590. This book provided detailed maps and descriptions of biblical sites, making it an important resource for pilgrims and scholars.

"Theatrum Terrae Sanctae" consisted of several sections, including maps and descriptions of the Holy Land, Egypt, and other biblical locations. The work also included illustrations of important biblical events and a chronological overview of biblical history.

Adrichem's maps and descriptions were highly influential and widely used in the following centuries. His work had a significant impact on the understanding of biblical geography and the visualization of biblical narratives.

In addition to his work on biblical geography, Adrichem was involved in Catholic theological and religious debates of his time. He served as a priest and chaplain in several Dutch cities before fleeing to Germany due to religious persecution.
