In 1702, Guinea referred to the region along the western coast of Africa, encompassing several countries including present-day Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and parts of Senegal and Ivory Coast. The area was known for its rich natural resources, including gold, ivory, and slaves, which attracted European powers for trade and colonization.

Brasile, on the other hand, was the historical spelling for Brazil, the largest country in South America. In 1702, Brazil was a Portuguese colony and covered a vast territory, extending from the Amazon rainforest in the north to the southern regions of modern-day Brazil. The coastline of Brazil stretches along the Atlantic Ocean, and the country is known for its diverse ecosystems, including the Amazon Basin, Pantanal wetlands, and the Atlantic Forest.

Maps from 1702 may vary in terms of accuracy and level of detail, as cartographic techniques were not as advanced as they are today. 

John Thornton's "Atlas maritimus" is a notable historical maritime atlas that was first published in 1702. It is also sometimes referred to as "Atlas Maritimus & Commercialis" or "The English Pilot." The atlas was intended to aid sailors and navigators in their maritime journeys and included detailed charts and maps of various regions.

The "Atlas maritimus" consisted of multiple volumes, with each volume focusing on a specific region or set of charts. Some of the regions covered in Thornton's atlas include the coasts of Europe, Africa, the Americas, and the West Indies. The charts included in the atlas provided information on coastal features, navigational hazards, anchorages, and other relevant details for sailors.

John Thornton was an English cartographer and publisher, known for his contributions to nautical cartography during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. His "Atlas maritimus" was highly regarded and widely used by navigators and sailors of the time.

While I don't have direct access to the specific content of the "Atlas maritimus" or its maps, you may be able to find copies of the atlas in libraries, map collections, or specialized rare book dealers. Some institutions may also have digitized versions available for online viewing or study.

Clients from US and Canada cannot track the parcels as the tracking numbers are not rolled in USPS and Canada Post systems.

* UPS standard: The orders will be sent with UPS expedited option. The delivery time it's between 5-11 days. Tracking number will be provided after dispatch.

* UPS express: : The orders will be sent with UPS express saver. The delivery time it's between 4-7 days. Tracking number will be provided after dispatch.

Framing tips

Both type of materials, paper and canvas prints come rolled and will be need to be taken to your local framers.

The image it's printed with a border of 0.6 " (1.5 cm), for framing purposes only.

If you have already a frame, be sure you send us the exact size of the print that will fit inside the frame. We're printing on vectorial plotters so the size could slightly be more or less with 0.4" (1 cm).

If you plan to have the canvas print stretched on wooden frame, you'll need additional border, so please let us know after placing the order.

The images above was cropped from the image at the biggest size available (keeping the best quality and aspect /ratio), so, for good details please choose biggest dimensions that will suit your preferences / space.
