The map "Mappe-monde Geo-Hydrographique ou Description Generale du Globe Terrestre et Aquatique en Deux-Plans-Hemipsheres" is a map of the world created by Alexis-Hubert Jaillot in 1691. It is based on the work of Nicolas Sanson, official geographer of the King of France at the time.

This map is a detailed representation of the terrestrial and aquatic globe, divided into two hemispheres. It incorporates the most up-to-date information available at the time, using the most up-to-date geographic and hydrographic relationships.

The map is probably a Mercator projection map, a projection commonly used at the time to represent the Earth's surface on a flat surface. However, without having the map in front of you, it is difficult to give precise details about its content or its representation.

Alexis-Hubert Jaillot (1632-1712) was a French geographer and cartographer known for his contributions to mapmaking during the late 17th century. He was born in France and worked primarily in Paris.

Jaillot gained recognition for his skills in engraving and map production. He collaborated with prominent French cartographers and publishers of his time, including Nicolas Sanson, whose maps he often reworked and improved upon. Jaillot's talent and dedication to his craft led to his appointment as "Géographe du Roi" (Geographer to the King), a prestigious title that emphasized his close association with the French monarchy.

One of Jaillot's notable accomplishments was his work on an atlas titled "Atlas Nouveau" or "Nouvel Atlas," which he published between 1674 and 1681. This atlas included a vast collection of maps, often based on the works of Nicolas Sanson but with improvements and additions. Jaillot's maps were highly detailed and beautifully engraved, making them sought after by collectors and map enthusiasts.

The "Atlas Nouveau" contained maps of various regions, including France, Europe, and the world. Jaillot was known for his ability to depict accurate coastlines, rivers, mountains, and other geographical features. His maps also incorporated political boundaries and important cities, providing a comprehensive and informative view of the areas depicted.

In addition to his work on the "Atlas Nouveau," Jaillot produced maps for other publications and collaborated with other notable cartographers of his time. His maps were influential and widely used, both in France and internationally.

Alexis-Hubert Jaillot's legacy lies in his contributions to the development of cartography and mapmaking during the 17th century. His maps continue to be appreciated for their accuracy, craftsmanship, and artistic value.
