Franz Anton Schraembl was an Austrian cartographer who lived in the 18th century. In 1789, he published a map titled "Karte von dem Groessten Theil des Landes Jemen, Imame, Kaukeban et C.," which translates to "Map of the Largest Part of the Land of Yemen, Imams, Kawkaban, and Others." This map would have depicted the geography and features of Yemen during that time.

Yemen is located in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula and has a rich history and cultural heritage. During the 18th century, it was divided into various regions and territories, some of which were ruled by Imams and other local leaders. Schraembl's map would have provided valuable geographical and political information about Yemen in the late 18th century.

Maps from this period often served various purposes, including navigation, trade, exploration, and military planning.

Franz Anton Schraemb was based in Vienna and played a prominent role in producing and publishing high-quality maps and atlases during his lifetime.

Schraembl's work was characterized by its accuracy, attention to detail, and artistic craftsmanship. He created and published maps of various regions, including Europe, Asia, and the Americas, which were highly regarded for their cartographic precision. His maps often featured elaborate decorative elements and were sought after by scholars, travelers, and enthusiasts of geography and exploration.

One of Schraembl's notable accomplishments was his involvement in the production of the "Allgemeiner Grosser Atlass," a comprehensive world atlas that included maps of different countries and regions. His maps and atlases contributed to the dissemination of geographical knowledge and were valuable resources for navigators, diplomats, and researchers of his era.

Today, Franz Anton Schraembl's maps and atlases are considered historical treasures, providing insights into the geographic understanding and cartographic techniques of the late 18th century.
