"Moluccae Insulae Celeberrimae" is a Latin phrase that translates to "The Very Famous Moluccan Islands." These islands, also known as the Spice Islands, are located in modern-day Indonesia and were historically renowned for their valuable spices, particularly cloves and nutmeg.

The map "Moluccae Insulae Celeberrimae" from 1635 is one of Blaeu's notable creations. It likely depicted the Moluccan Islands in detail and may have included information about the spice trade routes and the locations of various settlements on the islands. Maps like this were highly valuable during the Age of Exploration and helped European powers navigate and establish trade in distant parts of the world.

Blaeu's maps and atlases are considered masterpieces of cartography and are sought after by collectors and historians for their historical and artistic significance. They provide valuable insights into the geographical knowledge and exploration of the time.

He was a highly influential figure in the development of mapmaking and is best known for his production of high-quality maps and atlases.
