The map "Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographica Ac Hydrographica Tabula auct Iud. Hondio" depicts the entire world and was published in various editions and revisions. It featured detailed geographic information, including continents, countries, cities, and geographical features.

The Hondius family, including both Jodocus and Henricus Hondius, made significant contributions to the field of cartography during the 16th and 17th centuries. Their maps were renowned for their accuracy, detail, and aesthetic appeal, and they played an important role in disseminating geographical knowledge of their time.

Henricus Hondius (1597-1651) was a Dutch cartographer, engraver, and publisher who belonged to the renowned Hondius family of cartographers. He was the son of Jodocus Hondius and the brother of Jodocus Hondius the Younger.

Following in his family's footsteps, Henricus continued the cartographic legacy established by his father. He worked as a publisher and produced maps, atlases, and globes. He collaborated with other prominent cartographers and publishers of his time, including Willem Janszoon Blaeu and Johannes Janssonius.

Henricus Hondius is particularly known for his contributions to the publication of the Mercator-Hondius atlases. These atlases were based on the works of Gerardus Mercator, with additional maps and revisions by the Hondius family. The Mercator-Hondius atlases were highly influential and widely used during the 17th century.

In addition to publishing atlases, Henricus Hondius created his own maps and globes. He engraved and printed numerous maps covering various regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. His maps were highly regarded for their accuracy and detail, often featuring elaborate decorative elements.

Henricus Hondius played a significant role in the dissemination of geographical knowledge during the Golden Age of Dutch cartography. His maps and atlases were influential in shaping the understanding of the world at the time and contributed to the advancement of cartographic techniques.

Unfortunately, Henricus Hondius passed away in 1651, leaving behind a notable body of cartographic work. Today, his maps and atlases are highly collectible and appreciated for their historical and artistic value.
