The "Grande Carta del Pacifico" is a significant Italian map of the Pacific Ocean that was created by the Ente Geografico Italiano in 1941. The Ente Geografico Italiano, which translates to the Italian Geographic Institute, was responsible for producing geographic and cartographic materials in Italy.

The "Grande Carta del Pacifico" from 1941 would have been a large-scale map of the Pacific Ocean region, likely depicting coastlines, islands, and other geographical features. During this period, World War II was ongoing, and maps like these were valuable for military and strategic purposes.

It's worth noting that cartography played a crucial role in military planning during World War II. Maps like the "Grande Carta del Pacifico" would have been used by both Axis and Allied powers for navigation, intelligence, and military operations in the Pacific theater of the war.

The Ente Geografico Italiano was founded in the early 20th century. Its primary purpose was to conduct geographic surveys, produce maps, and gather geographical data for Italy.

GI was particularly active in the production of topographic maps and atlases for various regions of Italy. These maps were essential for a range of purposes, including urban planning, agriculture, and military planning.

The organization has evolved and changed over the years. Today, its functions may have been absorbed by other government agencies or entities involved in geography and cartography in Italy.

The Ente Geografico Italiano was an important institution for the production and dissemination of geographic information in Italy, particularly during the mid-20th century. Its maps and geographic data were used for a wide range of purposes, including military, scientific, and civilian applications.
