"Woman in an armchair" is a painting by Pablo Picasso, completed in 1948.

The painting depicts a seated woman, shown in profile with her arms resting on the armrests of the chair.

Picasso's approach to the female form in this painting is characterized by his use of bold, sweeping lines and curves. The woman's figure is rendered with a stylized and abstracted quality, emphasizing the shapes and forms of her body rather than a realistic representation.

"Woman in an armchair" is part of a series of paintings that Picasso created in the late 1940s and early 1950s that explored the theme of the seated woman. These paintings are notable for their highly stylized and abstracted forms, as well as their use of bright, bold colors. The series reflects Picasso's ongoing fascination with the female form, as well as his exploration of the possibilities of form and color in art.

Overall, "Femme dans un fauteuil" is a stunning and dynamic image that showcases Picasso's mastery of form, color, and composition. The painting invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty and complexity of the human form, as well as the possibilities of abstraction and bold color choices in art.
